The 'driver error' problem is on the surface the same one that I've had all along. After turning BT back to 'On' on the iMac, was able to re-pair the keyboard to the iMac.
Once in Windows, difficult time getting connection to pair, but eventually got it to pair, but was again met with 'driver error' status for the keyboard, and was unable to get it to have a keystroke show up anywhere. Through that whole experience, the battery was pulled from the keyboard to ensure there was no 'automatic' connection with OSX as I went through those cycles. Back to OSX side, reset SMC, then PRAM, then back into Windows. Was able to get pairing and connection, but immediately the status changed to 'driver error' beneath the icon/description for the keyboard. Pulled the batteries on the keyboard, tried to pair with Windows. Made sure the other machine in the house (iMac) was disconnected from the A1255 (where it's been moved while I've got the wired keyboard on the mini) and the iMac's BT was turned off for good measure. The expose key (F3) has a slightly different pictogram (the three 'windows' are enclosed in a box), and the F4 key has the old 'dashboard' app symbol. The row of function keys across the top are only half-height keys, but it otherwise is very similar in key layout to the one you linked to. It's on that plastic near the bottom edge that I can see the model number A1255. The keys and battery are all mounted in an aluminum 'frame', but the underside of the keyboard that the underside the keys would see is white plastic. So, my understanding of the the apple wireless keyboards is that the first iteration used 4 AA batteries, the second 3 batteries, and then a version with two that was used for years.

this is the first use of Boot Camp for me, and have installed Win10 so don't know if there was a problem with previous Windows versions. am using an Apple Wireless Keyboard (Aluminum) model A1255 that's never been a problem with my macMini (6,2). Additional details that might be relevant(?). Only then will the keyboard even be seen despite the advice that the keyboard must be paired with OSX before rebooting to Windows.Īfter the 'driver error' message associated with the keyboard, the only option/button contains the caption 'remove device'.

I've been able to get to this point by first, getting the Bluetooth setup looking for devices, pulling the batteries out of the keyboard for about 30 seconds, re-installing them, then turning on the keyboard. The closest I've ever gotten is the Bluetooth Setup in Windows recognizing the keyboard, but returning a 'Driver Error' after attempting pairing.

Have tried several of the recommended solutions, including 'repairing' boot camp drivers without success (three times, in spite of the thing about doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result).
